Our Story

The journey

The Ika Builders Forum was originally conceived to serve as “Ika Nehemiah Team” by Pastor Emmanuel Udowoima, but was eventually set up as The Ika Builders’ Forum. It was established to build up the “old waste places” and practices that have prevented Ika from developing and its people from living in peace as envisioned by the founding Fathers.
This idea was implemented by Pastor Ini Nwoko, who gave life to the vision with his time, energy, talent and financial resources.
The Ika Builders’ Forum started with a resolve to sell the vision to Ika indigenes at home and in the diaspora who were desirous of a platform and opportunity to participate in efforts aimed at building sustainable legacies in Ika to make it evolve as one united community.
The initiators of the very first hours were Pastor Ini Nwoko , Prof. Patrick Ebewo, Pastor Emmanuel Udowoima, Mrs. Patricia Edet (nee Ntebono), Dr. John Udo Okon, Mrs. Uduak Olufemi (nee Essien) through phone calls going between USA, United Kingdom, Canada and South Africa which finally led to winning the support of a great and committed son of Ika: Engr. Godwin Amos Akpanudofun.

The IBF was eventually launched on May 18th, 2019 in the Unity Hall, Urua Inyang, Ika LGA of Akwa Ibom State with the Akwa Ibom State Attorney General, representative of the Executive Chairman of Ika Local Government Area, other Politicians from Ika and a representative of the Traditional Rulers in attendance. God helping us, and going by our strong resolves and beliefs, the IBF is being positioned as a platform to foster collaboration among the great minds of Ika sons and daughters residing in Nigeria and in the diaspora. The Platform is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission and has Registered Trustees. The Platform trusts God to use every Ika son and daughter to make a difference in the lives of our People and development of the land.
Membership is open to Ika sons and daughters of all walks of life, who share this passion for making positive impacts in their communities.

Our Vision

Develop Ika Community to be a place of peaceful coexistence and prosperity

Our Approach

How do we intend to achieve our mission – We are gathering the sons and daughters of Ika who are willing to give back in one way or the other to Ika. Our goal is to have several Ika sons and daughter who can commit to investing- again Investing their time and ressources – towards Ika Youth repositioning/development Programs.

The goal will be to build a Legacy for Ika and its citizens in the form of a Community development and youth re-positioning programs.

The philosophy is that IBF plans to inject funds into various programs to enhance the development of the Human Capital for Ika Local Government Area.

The Projects to be executed are being developed by the various groups which IBF has carefully selected volunteers to identify them. Each project will be reviewed and approved for implementation based on the perceived impact it will have on our target population.

Again I believe we are on the march into a New Dawn Era. This is a Movement for the benefit of all Ika Communities.

We call on all Ika indigenes to step and commit to moving IBF forward.
